Co-taught with Eric Cannizzaro

Octagonal parts will be shaped with the drawknife and spokeshave. Slat mortises are routed, rung mortises are made with the drill press. After initial shaping of parts and fitting slat joinery, we will develop patterns and carve them into our slats with a series of gouges. After assembly chairs can be painted with milk paint or clear finished in class. A variety of colors of shaker tape will be available to choose from to weave the seat. Aspen Golann and I are co-teaching this class and allowing up to 5 students.
