Aspen Golann is an artist & furniture maker blending early American furniture forms with sculpture and social practice.

Her artwork is exhibited nationally and is published in Fine Woodworking MagazineArchitectural Digest, Popular Woodworking, Luxe Magazine, Lost Art Press Blog, American Period Furniture, and others. She serves on the board of A Workshop of Our Own and as an ambassador to the Board of Fine Woodworking Magazine. She has received support for her work from The Windgate Foundation, Winterthur Museum, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship and others and is the recipient of the 2020 Mineck Furniture Fellowship from The Society of Arts & Crafts.

Aspen is also the founder of The Chairmaker’s Toolbox, a project designed to increase equity and access in the field of chairmaking. Funded by The John D. Mineck Foundation and The Society of Arts + Crafts. Check it out here.

Aspen does domestic and international commission work for designers such as Beata Heuman in the UK, The Harvard Design Project in Boston, MA and Building Preservation Associates in Nantucket, MA.

She has received support for her work from The Society of Arts + Crafts, The Massachusetts Cultural Council, The Society of American Period Furniture Makers, Anderson Ranch Art Center and The Maloof Foundation. She was the recipient of the 2020 John D. Mineck Furniture Fellowship.
