Hand Broom Making Kit

Get ready to make some gorgeous hand brooms! This kit is the perfect companion to Aspen Golann’s online broom making classes and a great way to get all of the supplies you need and enough precious broomcorn for a small series of hand made whisk brooms.

Your kit will contain around 1.25lb of broomcorn - which is enough for 4-5 hand brooms, depending on how big you tie them! You’ll also get a wrapped spool of nylon for weaving your brooms. While strong sticks work really well for footbreaks, this kit includes a dowel that will work great. If you are interested in weaving your handles with stems (traditional Appalachian style) feel free to add them to your kit.

If you are taking the “Advanced” or handled broom class you can add a “Bodkin” or flat sewing needle to your kit and a hardwood “spreader” with steel hardware used to clamp your broom flat and create an ideal shape for sewing. Please feel free to reach out with questions!
